The Varian Saturn 2000 GC/MS is a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry system. It analyzes gas-phase ions from a sample based on their mass-to-charge (m/z) ratios and relative abundances. The Saturn 2000 supports four ionization modes (EI-Fixed, EI-Auto, CI-Fixed, and CI-Auto) as well as a null ionization mode option for when the hardware is turned off (i.e., solvent peak elution). It has a programmable scan range time with a mass range of 10 to 650 m/z. The full spectrum scan rate is up to 10 Hz, depending on the selected mass range. It's designed to operate reliably under carefully controlled environmental conditions.
